We would love to show off our customers' creations!!
If you would like to add your layout or card to our
gallery, email us a picture and which of our products you used. You can also include your first name and
location. You can use the following pictures and descriptions as
guidelines. Email this info to
service@embellishmentsetc.com.
| You can create these mirrors using ink, paint, embossing powders, chipboard, any paper, and embellishments.
The mirrors we used were purchased at Ikea, but you can use any
mirror you would like and adjust the number and size of the
chipboard accordingly. Your imagination can run
wild! These make great decorations for the holidays, home decor, or gifts. The instructions are listed below the pictures. Keep in mind
that you can design them with any colors or embellishments that you want. We would love to see your take on this project, so email us
your creations.

Mirror Frames

Supplies: craft sheet, distress inks, distress powders, distress crackle paint, distress embossing ink,
heat tool, ink blending foam, accents, paper, chipboard (1 ½” squares), glue, mirror, glue dots and embellishments.
STEPS FOR DISTRESS CRACKLE PAINT (8 CHIPS/TILES):
1. Adhere chipboard squares to craft sheet using glue dots
(This will help keep them in place while painting).
2. Shake crackle paint and unscrew brush cap.
3. Paint a medium coat (for small cracks) or a heavy coat
(for larger cracks) of crackle paint on to tile. *It helps to hold bottle at slight angle while
dipping brush back into paint to load brush.
4. Repeat with additional colors on additional tiles.
5. Allow to air dry and crackle.
6. Once cracks appear you can speed up the process using your heat tool. Do not over heat.
7. Once dry and crackled, ink tile with matching distress ink using ink blending foam—this will highlight the cracks.
STEPS FOR DISTRESS EMBOSSING POWDER (6 CHIPS/TILES):
1. Ink tile with distress embossing ink.
2. Shake jar of distress powder and apply to tile to cover entirely with powder.
3. Remove excess powder and put back into jar.
4. Heat tile using heat tool to melt embossing powder. *Powder colors will start to change as they melt.
*Embossing chipboard takes longer than cardstock due to the thickness of the chipboard.
*You cannot over emboss these powders so make sure they are melted.
5. Allow tiles to cool completely!
6. Test to make sure powder is embossed by lightly touching areas of the tile—it should feel like sand paper vs. sand on the beach.
Re-heat if necessary.
7. Rub hand across tile to remove “release crystals” in the distress powders. *DO NOT SAVE THESE CRYSTALS!
8. Ink tile with matching distress inks using ink blending tool and foam—this will stain the exposed chipboard areas.
STEPS FOR DISTRESSABLES TILES (18 chips/tiles):
1. Adhere papers to tiles using glue. Let dry.
2. Ink edges of tiles with distress ink using ink blending foam, to shadow the edges
STEPS FOR ASSEMBLY OF TILES MIRROR:
1. Start in top left corner of frame by squaring tile up in the corner. Adhere tile with glue.
2. Repeat with remaining tiles in a quadrant fashion.
3. Adhere all embellishments with glue and allow to dry completely.
4. When dry completely can be coated with decoupage finish. (I recommend Royal Coat)
